ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲೀಯನು ಅವ ರನ್ನು ಗೇಲಿಮಾಡಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ--ದೊಡ್ಡ ಶಬ್ದದಿಂದ ಕೂಗಿರಿ, ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅವನು ಒಬ್ಬ ದೇವರು; ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನು; ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನು.; ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಪ್ರಯಾಣದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾನು; ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಅವನು ನಿದ್ರೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನು; ಈಗ ಅವನು ಎಚ್ಚರಿಸಲ್ಪಡಬೇಕು ಅಂದನು.

And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he [is] a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, [or] peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked.
